Abstract

Image Enhancement is the preprocessing technique widely used in Digital Image Processing. This paper presents techniques that are developed to enhance the visual appearance of images. This survey includes Image Enhancement using traditional methods along with fuzzy logic, genetic-based, and machine learning algorithms. The role of machine learning in the field of digital image enhancement is a new frontier. Machine learning is an application of artificial Intelligence that provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed.

Abstract

Let G = (V,E) be a simple graph. A restrained two dominating set S is said to be a restrained triple connected two dominating set, if is triple connected. The minimum cardinality taken over all restrained triple connected two dominating sets is called the restrained triple connected two domination number of G and is denoted by γ2rtc(G). In this paper, we study the restrained triple connected two domination number for central graph, total graph and line graph of path and cycle.

Abstract

Stock trend prediction is regarded as one of the most challenging tasks of financial time series prediction. Due to the non-linear and non-stationary characteristics of stock market time series, it is generally difficult to model and predict such series by a single forecasting model. In this paper, a novel hybrid model, which combine Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD), feature selection using Kernel Principal Component Analysis (KPCA) and Support Vector Machine (SVM), is proposed for predicting direction of stock's movement. First, the original stock price time series is decomposed into a set of sub-series by EMD. Second, a feature selection process (KPCA) is introduced to constitute the relevant and informative features. Finally, a predictive model (SVM) is established using these selected features..........

Abstract

Agriculture is one of the important aspects of Indian economy. Traditional method integrated with the wireless sensor network helps in increasing the productivity of the field and thus raising one's profit. Internet of things (IoT) plays a pivotal role in smart gardening system. Irrigation is key factor of agriculture and thereby achieving the efficient watering system to utilize the water resources adequately. Thus, the paper aims at achieving automation in gardening by controlling and monitoring the system ensuring the safety of the plants. Stability Analysis of the Effect of Vaccination in the Transmission of Swine Flu

Abstract

In this study, a deterministic model for swine flu is formulated and analysed to study the effects of vaccination in the spread of the disease. The model parameters of the swine flu are investigated in depth. The threshold and equilibrium points for the model are computed and stabilities are studied. The swine flu free equilibrium is proved to be globally stable. Centre manifold theory is used to established local stability of endemic equilibrium, the global stability is proved using Lyapunov function. Through numerical simulation, it is observed that swine flu individuals in the population for a non-vaccinated community are at risk. The result reveals that vaccination should be encouraged to reduce the vitality of the disease.

Abstract

Heterogeneous traffic is the backbone of the economy of any area. Life has been hampered very badly affected by unorganized traffic movement and parking habits along with the carriageway characteristics which have resulted in congestion, traffic jams and travel time delay. To overcome this peril of heavy congestion and travel time delay, analysis was carried out on five different locations (P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5) of Pulwama town by the help of questionnaire survey, stopwatch method and observational survey. The study revealed that the daily travel time along all the stretches was increased by half an hour during (8:00 am-10:00am) to (4:00pm-6:00pm) due to the fact that the intersections are not being properly designed..........

An Analysis of Missing Data Imputation Methods on Microarray Gene Expression Data

Abstract

Micro array Data usually used in the gene expression data analysis. Before obtaining the micro array data, it undergoes many transformations. Micro array gene expression data occupies huge amount of memory. Micro array data was analyzed statistically and mathematically to obtain the correlation among different genes. Generally micro array gene expression data consists of missing values. These missing entries in the micro array datasets were introduced by many reasons. Dealing with micro array gene expression data with missing entries is a challenging issue. Analysis of gene expression data could not be successful if the micro array data consisting of missing entries. So before any analysis is done missing entries are imputed successfully. In this paper we made the comparative study of random Forest , mean and KNN (K nearest neighbor ) Imputation methods. , based on real time datasets. The performance of this technique is analyzed by varying the percentage of missing entries in the original datasets.

Abstract

The lost wax casting process in Hot Mold is a sophisticated tool to produce precision casting products. The overall shrinkage of cast products are depend on clay core shrinkage during drying, expansion clay mold over the wax pattern during heating and solidification of liquid metal in three stages: liquid- liquid, liquid- solid, and solid-solid contraction. Also the frequency distribution in six-sigma scale shows the discrepancy of dimensional accuracy for repetitive production.

Floating Gate MOSFET Based Current Differencing Buffered Amplifier and Its Applications as Third-Order Filters

Abstract

In this paper, a floating gate MOS (FGMOS) based current differencing buffer amplifier (CDBA) has been presented. The proposed CDBA operates at low supply voltage of ± 1.25 V and consumes minimum power of 2.78 mW. The maximum linear range for the current differencing unit is approximately –700 μA to +700 μA and for the voltage buffer unit it is ̶ 1.2 V to +1 V. Additionally, a third-order low pass (LP) and band pass (BP) filter are reported as applications of this suggested CDBA block. The proposed filter circuits use single CDBA, three capacitors, four/three resistors for LP/BP response. All the circuits are simulated using PSPICE in TSMC 250 nm technology.

The purpose of this article is to extend the concept of convergence of random variables to set indexed framework. Several types of convergenceare presented (convergence in probability, convergence in almost surely, convergence in p L and convergence in finite dimensional distribution) and the relations that exist among various notions of convergenceare formalized. In addition, some applications on set indexed Brownian motion are introduced.

Abstract

Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) is a magnificent process of discovering informative patterns and knowledge from enormous amount of unorganized databases by using the techniques and algorithms of data mining and machine learning. In the present paper, the authors have made an attempt to discover novel knowledge from the child immunization dataset that has been collected from Health Management Information System (HMIS), a web portal facilitated by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India. The data consists of diverse health indicators related to the immunization of children and it covers all districts of India. The Artificial Neural Network (ANN) classifier has been used to build a child immunization predictive model based on the available past data to categorize the districts of India into High Focus (HF) and Non-High Focus (NHF) districts. In addition to model building, various measurement methods have been used to evaluate the performance of the predictive model.

Validation of Heuristic Algorithms for improved BER performance

Abstract

The performance of the code was improved effectively by introducing the third component in conventional turbo codes. But their adaptability to the varying noise environments was very poor. This degraded their performance in achieving the low bit error rates. To overcome the aforesaid drawback Adaptive third dimension turbo code was proposed in our previous paper [1]. The parameters were made adaptive by generating genetic algorithm based knowledge source. In [2] comparison was made between Genetic algorithm and Simulating Annealing algorithm. In this paper the performance analysis and validation is done between these two algorithms. The analysis showed that genetic algorithm is able to give better performance when compared to simulated annealing algorithm.
