Parametric & Kinetic Study for the Adsorption of Crystal Violet Dye by Using Carbonized Eucalyptus

Abstract

The adsorption of Crystal Violet (CV) dye was performed in this study on carbonized Eucalyptus wood. The wood charcoal was characterized using XRD and SEM-EDX. The batch experiments were performed to optimize the parameters for the maximum adsorption of the CV dye and the parameters included were - amount of adsorbent, initial dye concentration, contact time, pH of the dye solution and temperature. The maximum adsorption of 95.80% was obtained at 10 ppm initial dye concentration, 1 g/L adsorbent, pH 9 and at 40oC. The study of adsorption kinetics was carried out within framework of two most important models: pseudo-first order and pseudo-second order. It was found that the adsorption followed pseudo-second order kinetics. The experimental isotherm data was analyzed using Langmuir and Freundlich models...........

Abstract

Tracking the three dimensional position using GPS or other equivalent technologies is an increasing important feature in many applications like surveying, mapping, transportation, agriculture, military planning, GIS and others. The positional and elevation accuracy of any place is tend to error due to various factors including poor geometrical position of satellites, weather changes in ionosphere and troposphere layer, multipath effects and so on. This inaccuracy may affect various real time navigational systems and position finding systems. The 3D positional accuracy can be increased significantly by other supporting data from other receivers, and low cost sensors like accelerometer, magnetometer, and air pressure sensors. The third dimension, altitude can augment the positional solution by improving the elevational accuracy. So this research paper aims in building a prototype system suitable for data collection from various receivers and sensor devices.

Abstract

Attendance for the students is an important task in class. When done manually it generally wastes a lot of productive time of the class. This proposed solution for the current problem is through automation of attendance system using face recognition. Face is the main identification for any human to know. This paper describes the method of detecting and recognizing the face in real-time using Raspberry Pi. This project describes an efficient algorithm using open source image processing framework known as OpenCV. Our approach has modules – Face Detection, Face Training, Face Recognition and Attendance Database. The face database is collected to recognize the faces of the students.

Abstract

In the leukemia detection process, human errors, differences between observers based on their experiences and a huge variation in the time taken for diagnoses are some problems that need to overcome. Therefore, this paper proposes a computer-aided diagnostic mathematical model that assists in early detection of acute leukemia subtypes. The results showed that the conversion of images into L*a*b* color space produces uniformity in contrast compared to RGB color space. The resulted different features for each object indicate that the model can be used accurately to detect acute leukemia subtypes. To achieve this goal Lightness channel which gives a good contrast of the objects is selected to clearly extract the relevant object.

Development of WIA System for Measuring the Water Level of Small-Medium River

Abstract

The transversal structure of small-medium sized river is relatively poor. In this paper, we developed a system to measure the water level and flow rate in real time by acquiring the surrounding image. The WIA system acquires the images necessary for water level estimation by a non-contact method. As a result, only 15% of the budget for existing automatic water level / flow measurement systems is needed, which can efficiently manage small and medium sized rivers.

Abstract

Cloud has become the most popular way of storing the data in the cloud due to huge expansion of Internet. Since the data may contain confidential information, it is encrypted before keeping it in the cloud. But, the user experience is reduced drastically if the user needs to search over the cloud data which is encrypted. In this paper, a framework known as Fast Efficient Keyword Search (FEKS) is developed. It is used for the secure cloud storage and retrieval that enables the searching of encrypted data via keywords. The first part of FEKS uses the Boolean logic operations such as AND, OR and NOT to retrieve relevant and efficient results. The second part uses the n-gram search to return faster and precise results.

Abstract

The study of lower limb trajectory during walking involves many measurements including spatial and temporal parameters. Among the whole range of measurements, the spatial parameters of the foot during the swing phase of the gait cycle, the distance of shoe sole about the ground (or foot clearance) has been identified as a vital gait parameter. Foot clearance during swing phase directly influences the risk of fall among the elderly. The foot clearance also plays a significant role in diagnosis and assessing the treatment process in several neurological disorders, mainly Parkinson's disease (PD). Abstract

In the context of our country, script recognition is a complex task because of more number of prevailing scripts and that many of the official documents are single script and multiscript in nature, English being commonly used along with regional script. Hence, it is pre-requisite to identify the script in the document and then feed the document to respective OCR for further processing. Texture of a script is a unique feature that can be used to identify the script type. Recently, local binary pattern (LBP) operator is extensively used in extracting statistical based texture features because of its simplicity in implementation and robustness to changes in neighborhood intensity values. Abstract

One of the most common obstacles confronted by the industry in developing countries are inadequate power supply. As the power demand increases with time the unwavering quality of power supply from feeder's turns into an essential issue. In this paper, feeder reliability study has been carried out focusing on unplanned outages. This study would help to find the trend of outage over past few years from 2012 to 2015 and includes formulation of hypothesis studying power outage effect year wise, season wise and reason based supporting the results with single factor ANOVA analysis. Cost aspect is also included by considering the important parameters that are affected in industry due to these outages connected with same feeder and their conversion is calculated time wise range considering various debts.

Abstract

Educational data mining focus on developing different methods for solving educational problems which are hidden in an education field. The major problem which is faced in an education field is student dropouts or failure. There are many factors which are influencing the student dropouts. Many Data mining methods are used for identifying and predicting student's failures. In this paper comparison of different educational datasets like UCI, Kaggle is used to analyze the attributes which are causing an impact for student academic failures. How many data mining techniques are applied to these datasets and the results analysis among these two datasets are made. From the comparison, it is observed that parent responsibility attributes' has more impact on student academic performance. From the result analysis of both datasets, Decision Tree classifier performs high prediction on student performance.

Abstract

Recent trends in CMOS VLSI design are reducing MOSFET size continue in terms of channel length for small IC and due to this, the major issue of energy dissipation is the subject of worry. For resolve this, an idea of reversible logic is introduced for getting low power and highspeed switching in CMOS logic circuits, which reduces the power dissipation by reusing the energy drawn from the power supply. In this paper, 70 nm technology model file available from predictive technologies is used to simulate results for proposed logic and other strategies. These results show empirical comparison between different parameters such as logic style, power dissipation and delay and illustrate the proposed logic cell has significant improvement in terms of power dissipation. These improvements show that proposed method can considerably reduce the power consumption in new design when compared to the conventional CMOS design techniques.

Abstract

The goal of Authorship Attribution (AA) is to take decisions about an author of unique chunk of text. AA is a variant of classification problem and it differs from classical text classification problem. It is a text analysis process that has different techniques namely, Authorship Identification, Authorship Profiling, Authorship verification, Authorship clustering, Authorship Diarization, and Plagiarism Detection. In this study a brief survey of Authorship attribution technique are presented. AA is a process, given a document and a set of candidate authors, determine who among them wrote the document. Plenty of accessible electronic writings are available in different areas on web and sometimes the authors of the text are unknown. The primary goal of the survey is to address various stylomeric features used and Attribution techniques based on the text corpus written by different authors.

Abstract

The dielectric measurement of glymes viz. Ethylene glycol dimethyl ether (EGDME) and diethylene glycol dimethyl ether (DEGDME) in aqueous solutions have been carried out in the frequency range of 10 MHz to 30 GHz using time domain technique. The measurements have been done over whole composition range of glymes and water, at temperatures 25 °C, 15 °C and 5 °C. The dielectric parameters for these glymes – water mixture have been evaluated using non linear least square method. Molecular interactions among the EGDME, DEGDME with water molecules have been discussed using parameters such as Excess dielectric permittivity, Kirkwood correlation factor and Bruggeman Factor.

Secondary Creep Stresses In Thick-Walled Composite Cylinders Under Internal And External Pressures

Abstract

Secondary creep stresses were obtained in thick-walled composite cylinders in the presence of both internal and external pressure. The cylinder is made of composite material with silicon carbide (SiC) particles as reinforcement in the aluminum matrix. The particle size of SiC is varied and its effect was observed on secondary creep stresses. It was found that the radial stress is negligibly affected with the increase in the size of SiC particles. On the other hand, the tangential and effective stresses are found to increase near the inner radius and decrease near the outer radius with the increase in particle size. The tangential stress showed the increasing trend throughout the entire radial distance. Whereas, the effective stress decreases throughout the entire radial distance.

Abstract

Italian mathematician Salvolose Sessa proposed the concept of weak commutativity of pair of mappings of a metric space, which lead to a new theory of weaker forms of commuting mappings. In this paper we introduce the concept of weakly commuting pair of mappings with respect to certain mappings in a non-Archimedean Menger probabilistic metric space of type Cg and we generalized some well-known results on non-Archimedean Menger probabilistic metric space of type Cg.

Abstract

In the present examination the Al2030 alloy composites containing 3 and 6 wt. % of B4C particulates were created for the investigation. The microstructure of the composite was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy; micrographs were taken to recognize the nearness of B4C particulates in the aluminum lattice. Further, mechanical behavior of as cast Al2030 alloy and Al2030 alloy-3 and 6 wt. % of B4C composites were examined. Mechanical properties like hardness, UTS, yield strength and ductility were assessed according to ASTM benchmarks. Microstructural perception uncovered the uniform dissemination of particles in the Al2030 composite framework. From the investigation, it was discovered that hardness, ultimate and yield strength values of composite was expanded due to presence of B4C particles in the composite. Further, from the investigation ductility of the composite abatements with the expansion of B4C particulates.

Abstract

The adsorption of Malachite Green (MG) dye was performed in this study on carbonized Eucalyptus wood. The batch experiments were performed to optimize the parameters for the maximum adsorption of the MG dye and the parameters included were - amount of adsorbent, initial dye concentration, contact time and pH of the dye solution. The response surface methodology was applied to design the experiments, model the process and optimize the variables. Central composite design was successfully employed for experimental design and analysis. The maximum adsorption of 97.95% was obtained at 49.75 mg/l initial dye concentration, 1.37 g/L adsorbent, pH 9.96 and contact time of 116.6 minutes. The optimum values of these parameters were calculated and the experimental values were found in good agreement with the model predicted. Thus, this study indicates carbonized Eucalyptus wood as effective adsorbent for the removal of malachite green dye from aqueous solutions.

Abstract

Earlier methods of soil classification included standard penetration test (SPT), cone penetration test (CPT), pressure meter test (PMT), and vane shear test (VST). The initial methods were time consuming and required presence of an expert for accurate results. In India, major 9 types of soils could be found which includes Alluvial soil, Forest soil, Red soil , Black / regur soil Saline soil, Arid / desert soil, Peaty / marshy soil, Sub-mountain soil, Laterite soil, Snowfields. Abstract

On site, soil classification is the need of hour for many geotechnical applications. Onsite engineers need some amount of primary information regarding the type and structure of soil. In this paper, the conventional techniques of soil classification are studied and an image processing based efficient classifier for soil classifier has been developed and tested. Seven classes of soil were studied for classification, namely Clay, Clayey Peat, Clayey Sand, Humus Clay, Peat, Sandy Clay and Silty Sand. Reliable images of soils under study were collected and preprocessed. The preprocessed images are feature extracted and the data extracted in used to train the Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier. The developed classifier is then tested for efficient classification and accuracy for each class is obtained. The developed model can be used in the development of applications for real time soil classification.

License Plate Detection Method For Yellow Plate Of Indian Vehicle

Abstract

In India the vehicles have two types of license plates Black character with white background and yellow background. The localization of plate has been important in every Intelligent Transport System (ITS). The license plates are present at the two sides; i.e. front and back of vehicle. Various methods have been implemented for detection of the plate area. But these have been tested in controlled conditions; the present work has been targeted towards detection of license plate from color image taken by camera in real environment. Initial assumptions have been made for vehicle distance and angle between vehicle and camera. After making initial preprocessing on the image taken by camera, by using yellow color detection method the required plate area has been detected. The area of the plate is fixed for each vehicle. The plate may contain single line or double line characters and numbers. The method used has up to 92% accurate results for given images.

Abstract

Identity-based encryption (IBE), which easier to do or understand the public key and certificate management at public key infrastructure (PKI) is an important one of two or more available possibilities, to public key encryption.one of the main efficiency drawbacks of IBE suggested that users renew their private keys periodically and senders use the receivers' identities concatenated with current time period. But this mechanism would result in an overhead load at PKG. All the users regardless of whether their keys have been revoked or not, have to contact with PKG periodically to prove their identities and update new private keys. It requires that PKG is online and the secure channel must be maintained for all transactions, which will become a bottleneck for IBE system as the number of users grows, We propose a scheme to offload all the key generation related operations during key-issuing and key-update, leaving only a constant number of simple operations for PKG and eligible users to perform locally..........
