OTSU Thresholding Method for Flower Image Segmentation

Abstract

Segmentation is basic process in image processing. It always produces an effective result for next process. In this paper, we proposed the flower image segmentation. Oxford flower collection is used for segmentation.Different segmentation techniques are available. Different techniques and algorithm are developed to describe the segmentation.We proposed a OTSU thresholding technique for flower image segmentation in this paper. which gives good result as compared with the other methods and simple also.Segmentation subdivide the image into different parts.firstly, segmentation techniques and then otsu thresholding method described in this paper.CIE L*a*b color space is used in thresholding for better results.Thresholding apply seperatly on each L, a and b component. accordingly the features can be extracted like shape, color, texture etc. finally, results with the flower images are shown.

Study of variations in dynamic stability of tall structure corresponding to shear wall positions: Case Study

Abstract

Construction of tall buildings, both residential and commercial are in insistance. In case of tall structure high lateral forces develops due to earthquake load and wind load are crucial. Thus the effects of lateral loads needs consideration for strength and stability of the structures. In tall buildings, lateral loads are critical as it increases drastically after a certain height of the structure. Shear wall systems are one of the most commonly used dynamic load resisting systems in high-rise buildings which help in achieving strength and stability along with economy. In this study, an attempt has been carried out to check the dynamic stability of a tall residential structure by applying variations symmetric arrangement of the shear wall. The Case study of a 26 storied RCC structure situated in Pune region of Maharashtra, India has been carried out. The effect of location of shear wall on dynamic behaviour of building is analysed using ETABS software using response spectrum method for earthquake analysis and IS875 (III) for wind analysis. The proposed position of shear wall gives the effective results as compare to other position.

A Study on Process Improvement in the Assembly Line of Switch Manufacturing

Abstract

The paper is about the process improvement in the assembly line at switch manufacturing company and to improve the process by focusing into the areas viz. Process flow, Time study and rework minimization. This improvement are made by using cause-and-effect diagram, critical path method and root cause analysis. The analysis will help to reduce the amount of rework that occurs during manufacturing of modular switches in the assembly line process.

Abstract

Ride comfortability of vehicle is a big challenge for the automotive industries and de sign engineers. The suspension system is the major source of providing comfortability by absorbing vertical vibrations. This paper presents modeling of the non - linear semi - active suspension system equipped with Magneto Rheological damper. Simulation of the designed model is performed in Simulink. A comparative analysis of the Simulink response shows the difference between linear and non - linear model. It has also shown that fuzzy logic controller has improved the performance of the system.

Abstract

This paper deals with the design of the tool Entitled Database Migration Tool Across Standard Database Formats processing data migration between different relational database management systems (RDBMS).The Database Migration Tool Across Standard Database Formats entitled is mainly aimed at designing a tool to handle for migrating one database from a sources of data to another,changing database's schema if necessary. Paper also proposes methodological guidelines for successful migration of database tables and their data between different RDBMS and suggests the possibility of tool extension when the source or target RDBMS is changed. The proposed tool is shown on data migration of selected database of the source RDBMS to the target RDBMS

Film Condensation Behaviour of Steam on Isothermal Walls in Presence of Non-Condensable Gases -A Numerical Investigation

Abstract

Numerical modelling of condensation had been a challenging task for the researchers for many years due to its time scale and rapidity. Present work deals with the characterization of condensation in presence of non-condensable gases on isothermal surfaces which is a common situation in many condensing devices. The investigation includes the effect of different flow parameters on condensation of saturated steam-air mixture using a numerical approach. The study uses wall condensation model through ANSYS CFX solver. The effect of mass fraction of steam, operating pressure and mass flow rate of mixture is studied. Investigation provides some key characteristics about film condensation which normally remain absent in condensation without non-condensable gas. The findings of this study will provide valuable insight in thermal design process of components incorporating this phenomenon.

Abstract

To increase efficiency, reduce emissions, cost and to reduce weight of boiler per MW, the power manufacturing sectors are going towards the once through technology (super critical boiler) instead of sub- critical. Once through supercritical (OTSC) technology has become a focal point for effective utilization of coal-based thermal power generation sector in India. Another main advantage of moving towards OTSC technology is reducing the weight of the boiler per MW, which can be done by going for material capable of handling higher pressure and temperature than the conventional material.......

Abstract

With the increase in internet technology cyber-attacks have also increased, most of the sufferers from these cyber-attacks are novice windows end users. Windows is more popular due to the ease in use, and effective GUI; due to the unavailability of windows component source code the crime investigations in windows environment is a tedious and hectic job for law enforcement agencies. The unsystematic organization of the available sources of evidence in a windows environment makes the integration of these evidences a difficult task. In this paper a prototype model is developed and implemented to extract the various sources of evidence in windows environment. Investigation issues in Windows and Linux environment are also presented.

A Study on Anonymous Routing Protocols in MANET

Abstract

Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) use anonymous routing protocols that hide node identities and routes from outside observers in order to provide anonymity protection. Existing anonymous routing protocols relay on hop by hop encryption or redundant traffic by generation high cost. The high cost exacerbates the inherent resource constraint problem in MANETs. Existing anonymous routing protocols provides full anonymity for the data sources, destinations, routing path with increased cost, delay. It consumes the bandwidth of the network. In proposed multicast routing scheme, the network field is partitioned into multicast zones and each zone has a zone head. The data packets will be transferred through the nodes which satisfies the position verification test and the zones through with the packet is transferred is dynamic. Routing misbehavior is mitigated using witness nodes. The proposed system is evaluated in terms of interruption, packet delivery ratio and energy consumption..

Abstract

Software quality is basic and essential in different types of organizations. When the quality of software is low may lead to damage of human life, mission disappointment, permanent injury, and financial loss in software engineering especially real-time software, control systems. SQA is a process that guarantees the developed software meets and complies with defined or standardized quality specifications. Successful SQA highly dependent on software quality measurements (metrics). Software quality model and software metrics are linked together through quality factors in order to offer measure method for software quality assurance. Cloud Computing: Session Passwords Authenticity for Data Sharing

Abstract

Cloud computing is sharing of resources as needed basis which is consumed over the internet. A major feature of the cloud services is that users' data are usually processed remotely in unknown machines that users do not own or operate. Users' fear is mainly concerned of loss of control. To address this problem, in this paper, we propose a highly decentralized information accountability framework to keep track of the actual usage of the user's data in the cloud. The LOG file is created which keeps track of the actual usage of the user once authentication is triggered. Auditing mechanism which is done distributed strengthens users' control. We provide extensive experimental studies that demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed approaches..

Abstract

The Internet has become a very important communication medium of our daily lives in many fields. People nowadays can study, buy, watch, and obtain more information and more and more services from the Internet. Therefore, the Internet networks have to carry different types of data, such as voice, video, image, and text data. These several types of data grow the Internet traffic up with the needs of providing Quality of Service (QoS) for each type of data. Thus, reducing the size of transmission and storage has become a focal area in the current research, as a solution for the traffic growth. In this paper, a survey of the current literature of the Internet traffics, traffic contract, traffic forms, and its parameters have been introduced. This survey shows the advantages of CBR and VBR traffic that make them in the nearest future two of the most traffic used in the Internet networks..
